When I had to choose a social issue to research and talk about for my magazine, I knew right away that I was going to focus on teen mental health. Mental health is a really important topic that cannot be talked about enough. There are so many teenagers struggling with their mental health and it’s so important that we talk about it and try to help them. As somebody who has struggled with their mental health throughout high school and have seen what others have struggled with, I decided that I need to do more in depth research and help those who are struggling and need someone to reach out to and understands what they are going through. When I started this project, I did not really know what I was getting into. I went into this thinking that not a lot of people struggle with their mental health. But throughout my research I learned that I was wrong and that there was so much more to it than I thought.

In my flash memoir you can read a story of my struggle with mental health in high school but how I eventually overcame it. Many teens think that there is not anything or anybody that can help them when they are struggling with mental health and I thought the same thing. But thanks to the people around me and the resources that schools provide I found help. There are people who don’t want you to suffer in silence and want to help you.

There are people who don’t want you to suffer in silence and want to help you.

If you take a look at my information effect, you can find all kinds of information that you may have not known about teens and mental health with trusted sources such as the CDC that talks about mental health. I wanted to give the facts but make it easy to understand.

The next piece that you can look at is my persuasion effect piece. I made this to help you understand all the facts and talk about some of the warning signs that you can spot and ways that you could help a teen who might be struggling with their mental health. By talking about what may cause it and how you can support and help them can do a lot for a teen who is struggling.

With all of these projects I wanted to spread more awareness about mental health, and I wanted to talk about ways you can get support if you are struggling or even provide support for somebody who is struggling and I want them to know they aren’t alone. I want to share my story and share information on teen mental health in hopes of reaching out to people who are struggling and letting them know that they aren’t alone. There are people you can talk to and ways to help you. It might seem like it is not that important but trust me it is. My work that I have shared is deeply personal to me and I hope that it reaches the right audience.
