Other helpful places to start

  • Crisis Text Line — Text HOME to 741741 from anywhere in the US to reach a trained crisis counselor. crisistextline.org
  • NAMI Teen & Young Adult — The National Alliance on Mental Illness has guides, support groups, and information specifically for young people. nami.org
  • The JED Foundation — Mental health resources designed for teens and emerging adults, with practical guides for navigating school, friendships, and asking for help. jedfoundation.org
  • Your school counselor — Every school has one, and talking to them is confidential. They can help connect you with longer-term support if you need it.
  • A trusted adult — A parent, a coach, a teacher, an aunt, an older sibling, a friend’s parent. You don’t need the perfect words to start the conversation. “I’ve been having a hard time” is enough.

You don’t have to go through this alone. There are people who want to help you, and you deserve to receive that help.
